Oh well.
It's a great day to be a Mets fan. There's not really anything I hate about this deal at the moment. Lindor would have been exciting enough, but adding Carrasco to a rotation of deGrom, Stroman, and Syndergaard has me trying to keep my expectations in some kind of check.

Who do you think the new GM will be?
I should have known something like this was coming. A lifetime of Mets fandom has groomed me for a shitty moment like this. Thank god they at least fired this asshole quickly. Looks like Alderson will be fully running things for at least one more year.
Ill add a few quirks to that "total bases" record.
If you take single season records and tie them for 15 straight seasons.
73 homers for 15 years = 1095 breaking the record by 333! 198 runs scored for 15 years = 2970, breaking the record by 675! 130 SB for 15 years = 1950, breaking the record by 554! 191 RBI for 15 years = 2865 breaking Aarons own career record by 568
But if you do Babe Ruths single season total base record for total bases 457 for 15 seasons you end up with 6855... you would need to get a 1 more base the next season to break Aarons career record of 6856
Aarons career total base record is INSANE! If you take 180 solo home runs off of Aarons career, he is still in the 500 home run club, he is still in the 3,000 hit club, he is still #2 all time in RBI, and, he is STILL the all time leader in total bases 1 above Stan Musial. Take 180 solo home runs away from just about any other hitter (so 1 home run, 1 hit, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI) off of their career stats and watch great players become good, and good players become average. Aaron? he would STILL be arguably one of the all time greats.
Ichiro's single season hits record doesnt catch Rose. 262 for 15 years doesnt even break the 4,000 hit club! 3,930 total.

Most shocking thing is that Barry Zito actually got one vote.

I am generally against keeping people out of the HOF because they are a jerk in their personal life, but if anyone is going to be kept out for being an asshole, I'm good with it being Curt Schilling.
