Strangely, BBR doesn't list the Orioles as having a tie that year, even though they list them as having ties in '96, '01, and '03: http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/BAL/

My guess is a game that didn't go enough innings and was completely replayed.

The average career (in years) in the NFL is much shorter than in MLB, so a lot of these football guys die, too, in their 20's and 30's but they are so far out of the public eye at that point, noone notices.

And the NBA has way less players so that is just a numbers game.
