The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Haven't been this jazzed for an opening day in a while. Excited for the season in general and more specifically, the Blue Jays. On paper, it seems like they have all the boxes ticked.

I thought you’d sworn off watching baseball? What changed?

A 2:21 game time was very welcome in the Chicago cold yesterday. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it around the fifth.

The M’s redeveloped this big bar / restaurant complex across the street from the stadium. Huge crowds last night obviously. There was a (long) main line to get in from the front. But on the side you could enter the parking lot through on open gate. We did that, and noticed a second entrance door right next to the one with the long line. I walked right in. Apparently the other guys I was with got stopped and were told “two hour wait” but pointed at me and said they’re with me. Walked right in, just as some people were getting up to go and gave is their barstools. And our bartender was fucking hot.
Oh and first pitch 7:10, game ended 9:26. Fuck yeah.
I think we’re still in spring training mode. Get a month or two into the season when they are more used to the pitch clock, and we’ll see it settle in nicely.
I do believe the pitch clock is worse for team on defense as if the opposing team knock out a few hits or walks in a row, the pitcher can’t slow down the game to “reset”.

Yeah this happened in our game last night. It really spiraled quickly.

Not being able to slow things down and kill time when a pitcher is struggling to allow the relievers to warm up is going to be a big factor. We're going to see a lot more big innings because of it I think.
