Because things are miserable for the Jays right now...
Guerrero is the youngest hitter in AA and is currently hitting .414.
Now .421. There's a good chance he would be an elite hitter in the majors right now. Compared to other teenagers, he's putting up better numbers than... well... pretty much everyone ever.

I'm assuming the Jays, aside from not wanting to rush him etc, don't want to start his service clock already?

Pretty much. It would be hard to justify keeping him down a couple weeks next year to get the extra year, though, so they might as well just call him up now and see what he can do.

As hard as it was for the Cubs to do it to Bryant 3 or 4 years ago?

Bryant at least had a strikeout issue at the time that they could say they wanted him to work on.

2-0, 6 saves, 8 hits, 1.23 ERA, .58 WHiP, 9 walks, and 58 Strikeouts! in 29.1 innings pitched so far for Josh Hader, and hes not even the closer or the hottest pitcher in the Brewers bullpen. Jeremy Jeffress has a .35 ERA in 25 innings, and is working on a pretty good scoreless innings streak. Matt Albers 1.17 ERA in 23 innings and now they have Knebel back in the mix after being injured.
I had the Blue Jays game on yesterday and they were even talking about Milwaukee's best record and lights out bullpen.
