Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Fri December 28, 2012 1:58 am

Another collapse to end the season, not good at all and there is talk again of players quitting, but there are a lot of bright spots and most likely another top 10 draft pick to look forward to this off season.

Hopefully we will see a real big improvment in 2013, most of 2012 was very competitive so another FA or 2 and another good draft and they will be a strong playoff contender.

Kinda nice to finish up the season with the win, but im kinda torn because i think thampa would have had the 7th overall pick with a loss, but with the win im pretty sure the 13th spot is where they are locked into.

my hope is that they will be able to draw a few more notable free agents going out with a win and looking strong most of the season, so maybe they can pick up some d line help like Freeny and Glen Dorsey, and then take a shot on another FA CB even though the erick wright experiment failed LOL, then if they can manage all that, bpa at 13 or a potential trade down would be nice.

what are some other hopes for FA/Draft?

A QB for sure. Freeman is not the future.

I dont think any of the first round QBs are worth the 13th overall pick, but i wouldnt mind Ryan Nassib from syracuse in the 2nd or 3rd if we have a pretty good FA and first round, i would love to trade back a bit to pick up another 2nd or 3rd and use that extra pick on a qb.

I pretty sure that Talib ain't coming back here. :haha:

I think we need to firm up the defense, and ride Freeman until something better comes along. If the defense was better, he wouldn't have had to throw so much.

Nope, but it would be funny if he did, end up with a 4th round pick and talib back after just a half season

By the sounds of it, Shiano might bring in someone to seriously challenge Freeman.

Im pretty sure they plan on drafting someone this year, just not really sure who they could be eyeing. I dont like any of the potential FAs at QB so i hope they do draft someone, they need way more help then at QB but id be ok if they take one somewhere in the 2nd - 4th round

Yeah none out there worth taking in the first round.

Especially not at 13, they need to get an impact player for the defense at 13 or worst case someone to play right tackle, but no way can they take a QB there

Vincent Jackson will be taking Megatrons place in the Pro Bowl
and i believe if the 49ers make the Superbowl then Doug Martin and Ronde Barber will make it also.

McCoy is supposed to be in but i think he might have gotten hurt in the last game, not sure how bad though

I'm not a huge jersey wearing guy, but I really want a Ronde Barber jersey. That dude is all class.

Buccaneers finally get to hire John McNulty

The Buccaneers tried to hire John McNulty a year ago, but the Cardinals blocked their request to interview him for their offensive coordinator job.

Now that he’s available, he gets to join them in a lesser role.

Bucs GM Mark Dominik said Friday McNulty was joining the team as quarterbacks coach, and that he’ll work alongside offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan. McNulty had previously worked with Buccaneers coach Greg? Schiano at Rutgers.

“It’s an exciting hire for our coaching staff,’’ Dominik said, via Pat Yasinskas of ESPN.com. “He has a lot of respect in coaching circles. Coach Schiano knows him personally. He’ll work closely with Mike Sullivan and [quarterback] Josh Freeman. He’s another great mind to work with our offense. He’s been a quarterbacks coach before, he’s been a receivers coach before and he’s called plays before. He’s a well-rounded offensive mind.’’

Dominik also said that a report that defensive line coach Randy Melvin had been fired were inaccurate.

“Randy Melvin is our defensive line coach,’’ Dominik said. “He has never been fired or terminated from his contract. He’s handled this extremely well. Randy Melvin is our defensive line coach for 2013.’’

The Bucs still need to hire a receivers coach and a defensive backs coach.

im excited he is finally on the Bucs staff, if Schiano wanted him bad enough to make sure he was hired as soon as he was free, then id like to see what he can do. and if the Offense does as well next season as it did this season then Mike Sullivan might end up with a HC job so McNulty could already be the plan to replace him as OC for the 2014 season

Because they couldn't just let us Bucs fan have at one thing to hold on to...

Its kinda looking like the Bucs wont resign Roy Miller, at least they havent talked about a new contract yet, and i think its would be a big mistake to let him walk, i cant imagine he would be too expensive and though i still want them to bring in someone like Glen Dorsey to help get pressure on the QB, Miller was a big part of Tampa not being embarrassingly bad against the run again last year.

i hope they keep him if for nothing else then for depth, and they have plenty of money available so they cant use that as an excuse
