Do we? It's pretty tough to search for the number "30" in the search feature.

Anyway

Last night I watched "No Place Like Home" about a KU Superfan's mission to source enough funds to procure James Naismith's original Rules of Basketball document from a Sotheby's Auction and bring it back to Allen Fieldhouse. What a great story.

I 110% think that paying auction prices for a piece of paper (with outdated rules at that) is ridiculous to the point of absurdity, and watching him crash and burn while pitching the idea of fundraising to alumni was hilarious, but boy does this fan have heart. Spoiler Alert: They get the rules! Watching this guy get a few key players in the KU world on board and watching the Fieldhouse erupt after the big win brings a smile to my face in a way that only the most genuine acts of humanity can. That stupid piece of paper brought happiness to an entire fan base and seeing one determined guy push for it to happen was something I needed to watch before I grow too cynical.

Which 30 for 30s are you guys watching lately?

I thought about how I would feel if this was about some sort of Texas Rangers experience, but then I remembered that there's really nothing about that team that's even remotely documentary worthy.

I pegged you and Argo as big fans of the "Silly Little Game" one.

I'd watch a documentary about how Nelson Cruz lost them the 2011 World Series.

My Top 5 30 for 30s:
( I guess I like the ones about fan experiences and heartbreak the most)

5. The Band That Wouldn't Die
4. The Fab 5
3. Catching Hell
2. June 17th, 1994
1. Believe Land

Honorable Mentions: Phi Slama Jama, Four Days in October, The U, Silly Little Game, No Place Like Home

If I left an obvious one out, it's probably because I never saw it.

I've seen all of your top five except for #3, and the other four are definitely worthy contenders for the best.

Others that are my favorite are Broke, Elway to Marino, Year of the Scab, and Small Potatoes: Who Killed the USFL? (god, that last one is mindblowing now considering who's in the White House.)

There's also a very good 30 for 30 short that interviews Jimmy Johnson regarding the infamous Herschel Walker trade.

Verb hating everything about the NBA, Chud taking about baseball/Red Sox, the Strava group, some MMA talk, and Lenny making fun of his own golf game.

I can't believe I forgot about this one. Damn shame that the NCAA didn't learn the right lesson from this.
