The first full football game I recall actually paying attention to was the '94 Orange Bowl between Nebraska and FSU. Crazy to think Nebraska was one missed field goal away from winning it all 4 out of 5 years.
Right. That game (though a bummer) was incredible. We were a massive underdog and lost by 2. Returned a punt for a TD that was called back because of a "clip". That was Tommie Frazier's coming out party nationally.
My first Husker game was against Okie State in 1988 the year Barry Sanders won the Heisman. Huskers won a shootout. I went to a couple games before that but this was my earliest most vivid memory football wise.

How old are you? I'm 29. My first game in Lincoln was in '94. My dad let me eat a Runza and a piece of Valentino's. It was glorious.

Turns out our first games were roughly at the same age. Nebraskans and football. Start them young.
On the subject of uniforms, I loved the throwbacks Oregon wore last year.

Love these.
Damn look how young/thin Kirby is. Such a fan of his growing up.
Kirby was my favorite athlete when I was a kid. He was my hero. Too bad things ended the way they did.
Crazy story. I went to a tournament at the dome that was Fri-Sun. Obviously my buddies and I talked about Kirby a lot of the time. Much to the dismay of my Braves fan friend. Anyway, Kirby passed that Monday. It was very eerie.
I think it was Steinbrenner who said if Kirby played in NY there would be a 5'8 statue of him outside the stadium.
