The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

I dunno, he seems like the type of guy you take to arbitration annually until he hates the organization and leaves town either in a historically bad trade or just walks as a free agent.

My take on this season is that the bullpen is improved, but not nearly as much as the pundits and the team is saying. Every other aspect of the team(SP, hitting, power, team defense) they look worse on paper then they were last year, and they were really bad last year. Maybe Sale, Paxton and Kluber all stay healthy, Bello has a breakout season, Casas ends up being better than projected, Arroyo stays healthy for the first time in his life, Verdugo has a breakout season, and Tanaka is the next Ichiro. I just don’t see all those things happening, and that’s basically what they need to happen to be good.

Bloomtown. So hot right now, Bloomtown.
His entire strategy is built on a one-year rosters full of "potential, but improbable" break outs.
And he bungled most of his aging/high-priced guys to the point where the farm system isn't even stocked.
Close your eyes and imagine:
Bloom planned on Xander and JD going elsewhere, right on the heels of Mookie & Price's exits.
Not only could he have thought longer term with his return for Mookie & Price, but the last few deadlines he could have put on the neon sign for the fire sale and added long-term pieces instead of short-term potential.

My biggest issue with Bloom right there, he sucks at the things he was supposed to be good at. We all expected the tanking and the one year deals, but with a couple minor exceptions, he has gotten fleeced in the trades he makes, and the farm system is no where near where you’d expect it to be after 3 plus years of his tanking and the dismantling of the 2018 team. He was supposed to create this amazing farm system and make all these astute trades that would turn people like Betts and Bogaerts into the next team core. He has failed miserably at these things and this team is now in the worst position it’s been in since the early 90s.
I was pitching as like an 11-year-old in Little League and a kid hit the ball right back at me and nailed my nose and lip. Fortunately, the ball bounced once on the ground before striking my face, which was all messed up for weeks. Obviously, not the same thing here (much much much worse) but it made me think of that.
Hope he's ok. They took him to the hospital and Sox say he's in good spirits w/ soft tissue injuries. Yikes.

I didn’t get a chance to watch any of the game today, but everyone is really, really, really, really, really trying to get me excited about Chris Sale again.
