A judge just ruled that Donald Trump can't block people on Social media....its unconstitutional and violates free speech but....NFL players can't kneel before a football game
In defense of the NFL, it is a private organization though. They are allowed to set their own rules just like any employer/business/etc. This whole thing is so stupid and their rule is asinine but it's not unconstitutional or anything.

The NFL is gonna have a delightful mess on their hands this year when the national anthem plays and a bunch of players STILL choose to kneel in defiance of the rule and take the fine. Maybe a shitload of them in unison. Then see what the NFL does with all the egg on their face. Act draconian? Like some lame 3rd world dictator opening gunfire on a crowd of protestors? What a bunch of dumb fucks. There are still going to be tons of kneelers. Then once they get fined, maybe they can form a class and sue the NFL together. And it doesn't matter if they lose bc the NFL will still have a PR mess on their hands.

Yes there will be, because some of these guys just DGAF. And already have millions of dollars.
And god forbid there be a team where a crew of of them get together decide to kneel together at the same time and put out a well-thought out PR statement afterward about how freedom of speech/assembly is a constitutional right and the NFL can go sit on a traffic cone
this is going to make this so much worse for the NFL
they are just ripe for an AssBlasting

NFL teams will set will their own rules regarding players who want to kneel during the National Anthem, NFL team owners decided Wednesday in Atlanta. There will also be an option for players to remain in the locker room while the anthem is played. Instead of a league-wide rule, it will be up to each team to decide whether there would be discipline for a player protesting during the National Anthem. Should a player protest on the sideline, the NFL can fine a team, but not the player. Previously, there had been no rule that prevented players from protesting.
The teams set the policy, but the league can fine the teams? wtf?

From what I understand, this is them getting around the collective bargaining agreement. Players cannot appeal a fine if it's not coming directly from the league.
