The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Chiefs moving up to take McKenzie might be the greatest troll in NFL history.
this really is hilarious, but just goes to show the late rounds mean virtually little to teams and it's more picking for the sake of picking and hoping for a bit of gold at that point. i mean, i get that it's not like the chiefs traded right ahead of oakland to do this and really drive the troll job home, clearly he was someone they at least had on their board somewhere. but sticking it to the raiders appears to have driven a bit of their decision to grab him, which beyond the funny trolling kind of makes a mockery of the draft at that point. why not just reduce the draft a couple rounds and let guys work out deals with teams who are actually interested in them and can groom them appropriately to maybe give those players a better environment and greater potential to succeed. teams might find more gold that way. 7 rounds plus all the extra compensatory picks allotted over three days is just way too much.
i dunno, i'm just thought and word vomiting right now.

I've never really given it much serious thought. But I've always wondered why it's so many rounds. I should look into the history and rationale more and try to understand it.

agree they need to expand NFL rosters so that 6th and 7th round actually matter
and because everyone always gets injured now and by week 11 it's the practice squad face-off

for those out there who are convinced that Kapaernick and Reid are being black-balled, rest assured that the NFL does not discriminate - you can even be named after a perverse holy war concept and still be considered based on merit
Ward is Muslim. He has said that his name, Jihad, which is popular where he was raised in Philadelphia, has been misunderstood due to the negative connotations associated with the term that has been used to decribe islamic violence against non-muslims.

I'm sorry, this headline is hilarious. Oh, now that he's 40 the Saints are committed to winning instead of constantly going 7-9? His Prime? They're trying to win another Super Bowl before he can't physically play anymore.
His prime was 5 years ago. He's still really good, but come on man. The Saints big move up shows you that they really wanted this guy at DE, and they didn't see a comparable player in the rest of the draft.
The bigger question, since they gave up all that, why not go get Chubb?

The Matt Patricia era is off to an interesting start.
it seemed like when the "philly special" worked in the superbowl it was a harbinger of mediocrity to come
so he'll fit in great on the lions

It breaks my heart. But the guy still has fire in him. And he says the Raiders have a plan for how to actually use him given his age and current ability. I can't fault/hate the guy for taking the deal. But my god it stings. This is far, far worse than when N. Smith became a Bronco.
