oh and Reid, he cares because now he is the fan of a cheater.
My brother said it best, I think, when he remarked that it doesn't change the way we felt as fans in the moment back then.
If the allegations are true, and it is looking that way, I honestly don't know if I can get excited about this team much in 2020 unless Luhnow and Hinch get suspended. I'll still go to games because baseball, but I don't see myself really caring for their success in the same way again in this era.
I'm holding on to hope that the Houston Astros will be a clean organization by the time my son is old enough to take to a game.

I just hope the punishment from the league actually hurts. These kinds of things generally result in a slap on the wrist that provides no incentive at all to stop.
Having said that, the league did warn other teams that future punishment would be far harsher following the Red Sox Apple Watch cheating thing, so we'll see.

so that's the interesting thing. baseball has always been about the "integrity of the game" and at least putting on the facade that it is paramount above all else. and so it can't just necessarily sweep this under the rug. to be sure, it won't result in the astros vacating the world series (that would open up a whole new can of worms). but baseball should hand down some hefty suspensions to the likes of jeff luhnow and aj hinch (like, a year or more).

PHATJ, you're just as complicit in your fandom as I am, having accepted the multiple times that Houston has avenged the Twins against the evil empire over the last few postseasons.
