IMHO, it's greatest weakness is in it's role as Act 3 of the sequel trilogy. As a movie separate from 7 & 8, I probably wouldn't dislike it so much.

Because the storytelling in TLJ, does very little to help what TFA set up.

It’s a good looking movie, but I think JJ was very frustrated by it.
