These aren’t albums, they are chapters in one ongoing story. Yes, one chapter can be good, and another bad in a book, but together they both matter to how you feel aboit the book.
However, I love the expanded universe. I love that we have gotten Rogue One, Clone Wars, the Darth Vader comic, etc.
I disagree with this. All that matters is whether the one contained movie is good. This whole contemporary idea of extended universes and “canon” is absurd and ridiculous - ultimately a dumb distraction from whether the art in question is any good.

Hmm.
I think expanded universe stuff can make a certain "thing" better but I dont believe it can make it worse.
The Rise Of Skywalker must be more than just a good movie. It must be a final chapter that ties what has been before together. And the funny thing is, JJ and Terrio has said the same thing. Nearly word for word.

They’re reported to have said that. To a guy at a party. I believe they did say it. But the origin of the remark is reddit. JJ did sorta say it at interviews at celebration too so let’s hope.
What better way to involve all and wrap up all three than Palpatine. I know he’ll only be minor or the reported maguffin will be related to him. What the devil that might be though is anyone’s guess though

And this kind of distracted thinking is how we got The Shit Awakens.

It’s a fact though. The main job here is to wrap things up. We just got a film that was 100% art in every sense with a director following his own uncompromised vision to the alarm and outrage of many and delivering a stunning piece of cinema and lotta people didn’t like it and a lot more did.
There is room for art in blockbuster films but you can’t get everyone on board to accept it.

I wish Rey's arc was better, that Starkiller Base was handled in a different way, and there is something about Han's role in this, that missed something essential. But, I like The Force Awakens. It's flawed, similar to how the prequels are flawed, but it certainly feels like a Star Wars movie, and a continuation of the story from the OT. And that's very important.

Yes, I know. For me the red line was TLJ, but with JJ back for TROS, I am hopeful and optimistic, that he will make a proper and solid end to the Skywalker Saga.

It was a fitting end, but it’s not the end anymore.
