Redeemed and lives? Troublesome for sure.

Redeemed and dies has been done before. As has redeemed. Make someone bad and keep them that way. Not everyone that turns to evil goes back good.

She’s basically Wonder Woman, so not strange that people reacted.

People can’t have abilities? It has to be explained?
We get no explanation of how han is such an ace pilot outrunning three star destroyers and several ties in that asteroid field.

He’s basically wonder man. But we accept it?

Han has no special or extraordinary abilities, and gets captured several times. He's a smuggler, and so is a bit sneaky and a good pilot.

WEve never seen any of that. How do you know?

We do see Rey taking on three thugs and kicking their ass. That’s not enough though?

What? It's in the OT.

She's does a lot more than that. I see it, and that's why it's too much. That's why she's Wonder Woman.

Not really. How did he get to be such a good pilot?
We get to see Rey capably defending herself but that’s not explanation enough?

I’m always left with the murky feeling that this conversation would never happen if she was a he

You always get back on this thing about Rey being female. It's insulting. I'm not offended, because this is too silly a subject for that, but frankly your insinuation is ridiculous.

February 5th is the next Disney earnings call. Bob likes to drop big bombs on these conferences so we might get the title that day.

I think it’s a very weird thing I guess to get hung up on though. No offence is intended.
But it’s definitely been part of that conversation as it relates to her and her abilities.

The leads in the PT were male, yet when they and their roles got criticized, I can't remember anyone ever bringing up the suject of gender.

I can’t rememebr them ever being criticised either though.

Also,
SWNN have taken down their interview with Richard E Grant. But in it he suggests he’s playing a character we all know, and ‘the room went upside down’ when JJ told him.
Yknow who I think it is. You have any guesses?

Jake Lloyd got his life destroyed from harassment, and the amount of critcism towards Hayden Christensen and his role, is second to none. You must be joking.

OH the PT. sorry I didnt read that I thought you meant the OT. Yeah but the abuse they got was about their performances though. Not their in-story abilities. You never saw anyone raise a murmur about the over powered 9 year old who can pod race and fly starships. And survive.

Of course Anakin's abilities is extremely well built in to the story I would argue, but I have seen plenty of critcism on all parts of Anakin, even how overpowered they felt he was (I don't agree).

It’s easy to accept in fact it’s not even an issue cos we know it’s vader/Anakins origin story.
So it gets a free and legitimate pass. We went in knowing this.

im not sure on what planet anakin isnt OP’d but Rey is.

She is extremely powerful, but so is kylo. so is anakin - that is part of the text of the movies. luke is clear that the two of them are the two most powerful force users he has ever encountered. It is in part a balance thing, which Snoke is explicit about.
