The Force Awakens was actually pushed back from an originally-planned May 2015 release date, and similarly, The Last Jedi switched from the original May 26, 2017 release date (the day after Star Wars' 40th anniversary) to December.

also the article is incorrect. the decision was made to have all the saga films released at christmas to basically own that period and then move the saga films open to either summer or christmas.

no, I said what a mismanaged shit show these reboots have become. This then dovetailed into a convo about how many films were postponed, which is still two. Dime, I am not attacking you. I know that you have nothing to do with this and do not work for Disney!

I want so badly to side with Trevorrow on this because of artistic vision and all, but he is such a talentless hack that I can't do it.

Spielberg is definitely the guy I'd like to give it to. If I could have any living director (that makes any kind of sense) make this, it's him. I'd love Rian to come back to do the script, though. Right now, my "realistic" dream list, in order, would be: Spielberg, Rian Johnson, Ava Duverney, Patty Jenkins, JJ Abrams.

But if I could have anyone? Anyone at all? It would totally be David Lynch. I'd fucking LOVE to see him make a Star Wars movie his way. It will never happen. But man!

Or Fincher. He'd be fun, too.

Ava Duverney?? Patty Jenkins? what.

The Supremacy is Snokes ship. It's colossal. Look like a giant stealth bomber. Look back a page or two in the TLJ thread. There's pictures.

Nowhere does the joke more quickly become the unironically adored than in Star Wars.
