Did you guys hear about that Adam Driver interview in Vulture? He was asked what’s interesting about playing Kylo and he said something like ‘we’re working on something interesting with that character so I don’t want to say’

Redemption?

Redemption isn't very interesting in that its been done too many times before. it is exactly where i expect it to go, thus it is not interesting.

Yeah the interesting thing would be he couldn't be redeemed. And the big plot point for Rey (and ghost Luke?) would be what do they do about it? Allow him to try to rule the galaxy under the influence of the dark side, or kill him to prevent his supremacy.

Off topic but Disney earnings call this afternoon. Interesting news often comes out of these calls so fingers crossed for something cool to talk about!

I don’t think they’re gonna redeem him.
Driver never gives anything away. In fact that’s the most he’s ever said about the character and he said nothing but intriguing too. I can’t see him saying that much if it was a ‘simple’ redemption story. I can’t see him even being interested if it went there.

I don't think you can take any interviews with actors or people involved with the production of the movie seriously. They're usually going to be nice about it just because they still have to work on the project and may not want to stir the pot if anything is not looking up to par.

When everyone has nothing but nice things to say about a script, an actor, a director, a best boy, etc.......be cautious.

Found the quote.

What’s interesting to you about playing Kylo Ren?
That’s hard to say because we’re working toward something in particular with that character. I don’t want to give anything away.

I don’t think it’s redemption now. I can’t see him calling that interesting.

I can’t help but think/wish well see Anakkin turn up and take kylo in hand and say ‘enough of this.’ And give him an earful.
