Huge two hour long making of on the original trilogy. It's fun and fraught and fascinating.

I did too. Touches a lot on the vastly expanded truth of it all in that book how Star Wars conquered the universe. Which is the best Star Wars book about Star Wars. In the universe.

Really makes me wonder. Making a new hope, the whole thing was a disaster right up until release day.

I've always maintained it was John Williams score that takes star wars up to a different level. Imagine they had gone with some 70s view of futuristic music? Disaster. Williams score is the fairy dust all over it and the heart of a lot of it at the same time.

If you guys havent read the Making Of... books by JW Rinzler, you're REALLY missing out.

Also, The Secret History of Star Wars by Michael Kiminski is invaluable.

Haven't read the making of books but the one I mentioned above was an excellent read. I think I've read the secret history one too

Any fan of Star Wars owes it to him/herself to at least read the Making Of... for the original movie. It's better than any documentary ever could be. (That's true for any of them, really.)
