:gomez: This does NOT meet the definition of "Classic B." Classic B is when you post in complete ignorance that the other post exists. I knew the post was out there. I just upgraded it.

I fundamentally disagree with the premise of this thread.

better? I mean shit. Who are the assholes who spent a whole page on this topic in a thread about a movie which does not star R2D2 anyhow?

I'm honestly not clear what it was he did.

I think he was in the R2 costume.

But I mean, what did he do in there?

Great story.

Apparently Kenny loved smokin weed. And would be hot boxing inside R2 while they were filming. And more than a few scenes had to be done again cos smoke leaking out could be seen on camera. :haha:

I've read interviews where he said he was never involved with any scenes where R2 had to move (I assume 'roll'), and that he didn't have a lot of scenes with the principal cast ("I barely met them"). But the dome movements and light flashes are not recognizably different for those rolly scenes...so did he do those when he was in the robot, but not otherwise? Or was there a remote controller offscreen?

I've never been clear what he actually did, other than prove that Anthony Daniels is a complete scrote.

He had his name on the scroll. Isn't that all that matters?

He did that little tip to one side then the other move when R2 would get excited or frustrated.

I feel McP's line of inquiry has been beneficial simply for introducing me to the term "scrote".
