It's a bloody ridiculous notion to attach to luke for sure. Diminishes him and what he done.

“You know how Han Solo says, ‘It’s true, all of it’? Well, was it really?” Siglain says. This book by Ken Liu presents its stories as rumors circulating through the galaxy.

It’s a clever way to avoid tangling up canon while still delivering tales about the farmboy-turned-hero’s experiences between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens — and also showing what other denizens of the galaxy know about his true exploits.

Fucking IN! This sounds like a brilliant way to approach this.

I'm glad you quoted this because I didn't get that in the first reading of the story. That does actually sound really cool, like a mythical retelling vs. what's on screen. A retelling of the Gods and Monsters, as it were.

As witnessed by a mole flea on his shoulder the whole time.

Out

At least it isn't a Force Flea, amirite.

Know what?

We shouldn't judge a book before we read it.

But this notion sounds awfully fucking ridiculous. No matter how tantilising it is to hear about luke in those lost years.

I think there's even an old adage/metaphorical phrase about that, something about a book and covers?

I love the cover actually. It's the premise I have a problem with.

That might seriously be the funniest response to a post I've ever seen. Fuck me...

Bunes?
I was too cranky about being disappointed in the book* his pointing out an overused yet true cliche to admit the humour in it.

This one is interesting. This is what the next animated series should try. Random stories across all the timeline with different and new characters and different writers and directors

Ben Acker and Ben Blacker?

I was going to complain about Wil Wheaton but then, oh God, Gary Whitta. WHY.

And no James Luceno. Massive oversight there.

He's writing the Plageius = Snoke book.

Guys, Snoke is CLEARLY Terence Stamp.

Awesome.

Also I'm thinking Luke set up his academy/temple on Jakku.
The complete locations book has a map of jakku and at Tuanul village where Lor and his people are, there's a path that leads away simply called the pilgrims path. Might be nothing.

But i do wonder what planet he set his academy up.

Hope we find out.

When Jyn Erso was five years old, her mother was murdered and her father taken from her to serve the Empire. But despite the loss of her parents, she is not completely alone - Saw Gerrera, a man willing to go to any extremes necessary in order to resist Imperial tyranny, takes her in as his own and gives her not only a home but all the abilities and resources she needs to become a rebel herself.

Jyn dedicates herself to the cause - and the man. But fighting alongside Saw and his people brings with it danger and the question of just how far Jyn is willing to go as one of Saw's soldiers. When she faces an unthinkable betrayal that shatters her world, Jyn will have to pull the pieces of herself back together and figure out what she truly believes in...and who she can really trust.

Listening to this. It's awesome. The narrator sounds exactly like Ewans Obi Wan and the story is great so far
