I would hope your kids have better taste than this poorly made fan film.

They're 5 & 6, so they're still pretty dumb

The intro is a huge recap of the prequels. They’ll get it.

Watch to the end.

Five seconds of Vader in a bacta tank is supposed to make up for two hours of garbage?

Ewan deserves so much better than this.

All the worst fears I had from the trailer have proven out. Looks cheap. Mediocre supporting actors. Forgettable music. Poorly written. Book of Boba Fett-level stunt work. All of the worst elements of the prequels without any of the good stuff, save Ewan.

I bear no ill will to anyone that enjoyed that but I feel safe in saying you have lowered your standards for the technical execution of Star Wars content.

Cool.
There’s only so much you can do with desert and tatooine. People might be bored seeing it. I’ll give you that.
But soon as it went off world it was brilliant design. And pure Star Wars.
Wish it was a bit brighter but that’s my only complaint really.

The overhead wide shots of the city looked good. The ships did not. To me, one of the key differentiators between good effects and bad/mediocre ones is the “weight” of CGI assets. Ships, characters doing stunts, etc. The ships all had the floaty feel of the latter. Compare anything from these two episodes with the ship and environment effects in Rogue One. It’s night and day.

Reva’s parkour routine looked like satisfactory wire work. Hardly the standard a flagship Star Wars show should struggle living up to.

All that paired with poor direction (framing of shots, camera movements, etc.). That Order 66 opener looked like it was shot by an amateur film crew.

I struggle to accept the Disney+ productions can’t find better supporting actors to populate their shows. Rupert was solid but he didn’t last long.

More so than anything, I simply don’t like the direction they’ve chosen to go with the show thus far. All the Alderaan and Leia stuff feel like deleted scenes from Phantom Menace. I expected/wanted a dark, atmospheric, brooding tone and most of the focus on a broken Obi-Wan. We got only glimpses of that between Leia being a brat and Reva whining.

I wish I liked it. I wouldn’t write this many words about something Star Wars-related if I didn’t love the franchise. But I fear fan service has become a greater priority for Lucasfilm and Disney than empowering great talent to execute their visions. The best of recent Star Wars is all borne of collaboration but I feel like there were some true risk takers with top-level talent driving a singular vision.

As much as I’ve given credit to Kathleen Kennedy for taking creative chances that led to Rogue One, Solo, and Last Jedi, the execution as of late is declining precipitously.

Loved it! Ewan especially. Obi wans lost. His reluctance to go back is perfect.
I get what it’s doing too. And why they did it like this with these two together.
Loved all of it.

I agree with some of Ensigns points. But the stuff that works far out weighs the stuff that doesn't. Bad stunts aside, the emotional core of the story, the Obi-Wan inner struggle, that stuff is so great.

I'm already in love with this show and now that the scrapped movie is out of the way, I'm just so pumped to see what comes next.

I'll post more about what I liked and didn't like later. But I have to get ready for work now.

Well I’m sorry pal.
I do think it’s a wrinkle they need to iron out now though. It clashes with the hologram she sends Kenobi in R2 in a new hope.

At the same time, someone else made the point now we know / she has a reason to call her son Ben.

I can’t see the story group screwing up and I’m sure they have a fix for it. I hope so anyways.

Loved the clone trooper begging. Great way to get Tem Morrison in again. Did he recognise him?
I think he did.

Someone spotted that he was wearing a Jedi robe, many of the clones wore them to sneak into the temple for order 66 apparently. This was detailed in the ROTS novel it seems.

Yeah flea took me out if it a bit. I’m sure it won’t bother the majority of people watching though
