Yes, I'm really curious how this film looks.

Will young versions of Han and Lando work, especially when they are in the same scenes with Chewbacca?

This is possibly the riskiest SW movie in terms of how the fans will react. Monetarily, I'm sure Disney can handle a sub-300 million movie (domestic). I'm talking worst-case scenario here.

Solo is definitely the big gamble. They’ve been softening us up to this point.
This will be the tell to see are we getting more standalones or not.
It’s up against serious summer release competition too, but a few movie podcasts I listen to are predicting it will probably beat most of them. I’m not sure about that but if they manage to make a fun engaging adventure AND if Han is spot on, it’ll do well.

There’s so much riding on this first teaser/trailer. They’ve gotta show Han and we’ve gotta hear him speak. Hopefully giving a typically sardonic line or something. If it’s a great trailer it’ll finally get kick started and the gen pop will be interested.

I was just thinking...this will be the first SW movie without R2 and 3PO, right?

I keep hearing that the Han kid can't act and I seriously can't tell if it's truth or just a play his character in Hail, Caesar.

Probably, just like Rogue One.

And that set is called the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon. Well, that's certainly one of the big hits people wanted to see.

He's funny in that movie, but he is playing a coen brother's character so I can't attest to his range or anything. What else has he done?

Lucasfilm/Disney is very careful about their casting, so I assume he wouldn't have gotten here if he can't act. The big rumor was that he was having trouble with improv, but that's a separate skill set

Ehhh. R1 was also a story that didn't need to be told, and that worked out well. I'm happy to give this a chance. It's Star Wars.

It's got every chance to be a good movie. Don't see why not. Not sure it will be as good as Rogue One, but we can hope.

The phrase cash grab doesn't really mean anything. The fact that you're producing a product for money is behind all commercialized art (i.e. just about every movie you've ever seen and any music you've ever heard). Empire Strikes Back was a cash grab. If it's a good movie it was worth it. If it's a shit movie then it wasn't. Something can be initiated by a studio to make money and still be good.

stip, you know what i mean....This is not the same thing as Empire or even TLJ. This is just a lazy nostalgic movie. Shot twice.

But yeah, its star wars, it has the logo man, lets go.

Ron Howard was offered every single prequel. I can't remember nor verify if he was also offered RotJ but he might have been. So...
