The guy who played Solo in an interview last week said he’d heard some things but nothing concrete. Meaning Solo 2 specifically. But could be this too.

I missed that. That's interesting. I saw something recently (maybe the article Ruddo posted about how everyone cast in Star Wars hates it now?) that quoted Aldon as saying he really wouldn't be interested in doing more (though he's under contract) and was hoping there wouldn't be a continuation.
This could end up being really interesting to see develop. Or it could all be bullshit!

I didn’t read that article but everywhere I frequent in the Star Wars realm says it’s all entirely bullshit and all out of context to suit the Bullshit aim of the piece.

Don’t pile on or anything. I liked Glovers Lando. But I didn’t love it. He overplayed it a bit.
Damn. We actually agree
It’s not bad or anything. Hes younger and more Exuberant and far more the player in the same way Han is younger and eager and nothing like as world weary or cynical as he is later. I just think Glover laid it on a little thick whereas Erinreich struck the note perfectly.
But I will watch this and be excited for it for sure. Lando doing his video diaries in the falcon cockpit was one of the funnier and more intriguing things in the film

Solo is better than any of the sequel trilogy
It’s in such a goddamn hurry it wears me out. We’ve seen Correlia, had two car chases, met the girlfriend, confronted and escaped the worm, attempted to sneak through customs, lost the girlfriend, joined the army, fought in a battle, discovered pirates, gotten in trouble, and met Chewie in the first 20 minutes.
That’s the problem to me: it thinks it **has to include all of that**. It feels like an homage to Star Wars character encyclopedia books. Here’s the story of the Correlian childhood. Here’s the story of the dice. Here’s the story of the name. Here’s the story of his time in the army. Here’s the story of saving Chewie. Here’s meeting Lando. Here’s the card game. Here’s the Kessel Run. Here’s a Jabba reference. Here’s Han jump starting the rebellion (lol ok). It’s a series of preconstructed details with a story written to connect them as fast as possible, rather than a story that happens to include some preconstructed details.
I would rather have had a single heist....just a goddamn cool heist movie where Lando is a suave team member rather than a walking, talking ego saved by a good performance...than this character card-as-movie. The Italian Job in space.
