Yet I would argue additions like the Wampa and Ian McDiarmid ruined some of the series’ most menacing and unsettling sequences.
Luke’s scream is also really embarrassing.
There’s a weird one for you.
Would you want 4K unaltered original cut no alterations no additions nothing. Just the prints that were shown in 77?
You’d see how threadbare the whole thing was on every level.
Does anyone want that?
Well, I want them taken from the OCN, not prints, but, of course, yes. Those were the movies I fell in love with.
They also already exist in the form of projects 4K77, 4K80, and 4K83. Taken from prints, not the OCN, unfortunately, but they exist. That’s what EVERYONE wants. Who wouldn’t?
I dunno. Happy medium for me would be upgrade the special editions with the current cgi capabilities and do that. I have the OT on dvd no alterations. And I love the graininess and grime of it all. They’re my preferred option when I watch.
I’d go as far to say make a complete set of all the films, prequels rogue one solo and the sequels and match them with filters to make them the same grimy grainy shoddy the ot was. But upgrade all the sound and music. I’d buy that. In a heartbeat.
Would give them all a solid feel throughout all the films. And we’d be rid of the shit digital gloss cgi of the prequels

Oh no no no. I just want all the movies restored and unaltered.
Now you have me thinking.
If this mega deluxe box set doesn’t include the ewok movies, even though I’ve never seen em, my completionist is already going postal over their exclusion

People had no problem understanding or enjoying these movies when they came out originally, theater release, or home video. It's only when GL started messing with SEs that everything went nutso

Also, my past self obviously wanted to document his action figure collection so that his future self could share it on the Internet, so, I will humor him.
