Interesting... I never saw that image (that I recall). It looks like that's on the Supremacy, doesn't it?

It is a ManDeLorean

AL

Holy shit...

That might be the funniest thing I've seen in a while, Ruddo. Kudos.

I’m finally back in a cinema to watch this. Supposed to start in two minutes, but expect a solid dose of commercials before it’s movie time.

I am sure it will be fun (still commercials, not even trailers yet). Can probably relax a bit more as well.

Sweet. I'm assuming that's just on the book right? The movie isn't out yet is it?

It’s just the book. A good example of him wildly overthinking and forcing in a lot of high mindedness where it really doesn’t belong but it’s a good listen as usual with him.

Isn't really something I subscribe to.

I’m listening to a q&a session with him right now where he’s arguing that Anakin isn’t redeemed at the end of Jedi. He’s just been given a moment of peace.
This guy can suck a bag of dicks is my high minded overthought response to that.

This is what I mean. Occasionally he goes hard contrarian on some established and verified truths.
It’s kinda baffling he does that and it’s frustrating but it’s never boring.

I mean, just the fact that he appears as a force ghost tells you that, right? Don't only Jedi appear as force ghosts?

I don't know, I can see this. Maybe Anakin is beyond possible redemption.

To be clear, my "yikes" wasn't in reference to Alastair's thoughts.

You’re missing part of a longer conversation about the guy Joey and I were discussing.

There is no interpretation. Lucas write that Anakin is redeemed. It’s the entire point of that ending.
The other ending would have been much better with Yoda and Kenobi helping Luke battle the emperor and Vader. He’s not redeemed in that one but it would have been a way more satisfying conclusion.

I mean, I totally agree he was absolutely redeemed and it was clearly the intention. But I think attacking people for being “contrarian” is wrongheaded, and people are welcome to their own interpretations even if I think thy suck.

I remember having this huge fight with some kid growing up about whether or not Jeremy kills himself or his entire class in the Jeremy video. After about 10 minutes of completely stupid debating an older guy walked over and was like, "Does it really matter? It's art. You guys can interpret it differently and that's totally fine."

While I think at a certain point we should acknowledge "truths" within plot and storytelling beats, how we react to and/or interpret those "truths" is what's meaningful and interesting. And that's where the art of it all lives, I think.

I wasn’t attacking him. It’s a podcast guy who is wonderful to listen to and really insightful but who occasionally says dumb shit (ie-‘there are no stone giants in middle earth! It’s a ridiculous notion!’ atolkien wrote Stone giants into the hobbit and yet the guy contradicts him. In a podcast. About Tolkien.) that’s just one example. There are others.
You should listen to a few of the guys podcasts. I think you’d love him. Then probably want to kill him.
