Lucasfilm does.
Disney just market it. They don’t impose any creative control.
Not on Star Wars not on marvel studios etc etc

Part of this is hindsight but I think forcing release dates is a Disney call. I attribute many of the recent issues to that. Solo suffered for it because of its release in proximity to the Last Jedi backlash and Rise of Skywalker was a “best effort” final product they needed at least another year to pull off more successfully.

Bob Iger said as much in his book so I think that’s pretty definitive in showing you Disney has a role here.

Oh they determine when it’s all released etc. but that’s not what I meant. They genuinely don’t get involved in any of their IPs or dictate anything. It’s a credit to them.

I’m still bummed about Solo not getting more love. It deserved it. But as you said. A piss poor decision to release it so soon after TLJ AND releasing it same time as avengers.

They should have done it at Christmas.

I bought a brand new TV for my bedroom yesterday and this was the first flick I put on. Really visually stunning.

Watched the last 30 min or so, the red salt planet stuff really popped!

My only random gripe is that Leia looks a bit funny being so old and holding a blaster. Kinda awkward.

I forget, was there ever a connection made between the beskar steel rod that Mando had in season 2 and that rod that Phasma had in this movie?
