I was referring to the Luke/Kylo/Leia/Rey ending on Crait as being almost perfect.

Broom boy was a nice little tag I guess.

Ah right.
Luke and Leia breaks me. Every time. Think it’s why I don’t watch this one with anything like the frequency I did TFA or the others. It’s really the one thing I wanted in TLJ to see them meet up again. It couldn’t have been handled better it’s perfect. Exact mirror opposite of their conversation in ROTJ. Luke knows he can save Vader. He has to go try. Knows he can’t save Kylo but can save the resistance. He has to try. Beautifully done.

Just realised it also mirrors ROTJ in another way.
Luke rises to the bait and nearly goes dark when Vader realises he has a sister and perhaps he turns. He loses it.
He keeps it together and doesn’t rise to the bait when Kylo says he’ll destroy Rey and the Jedi. He’s learned the hard way not to give in to hate.

The Mr. Plinkett review for TLJ is interesting.

I think it focuses too much on plot holes, which may or may not make a movie poor or not.

But I do think the other things brought up doesn't do TLJ any favors.

That one guy is responsible for the horrific ugly toxic mindset that has infected the internet.
By all means enjoy it. Please Dont talk to me ever again if you do. Its mindless poisonous bullshit. And I want nothing to do with it for any film whether I like it or not.

I like this film a lot, and I fucking haaaaaaaate the Red Letter Media people, but why are you incapable of entertaining any TLJ criticism without taking it so personally?

RLM is great, though jay is the only decent reviewer. Best of the Worst is worth them alone.

Watching the plinkett video...My god, those deleted TLJ scenes are terrible. At least they had the good sense to delete them. Should have never been made public though.

RLM have no actual clue what they're talking about a good 70% of the time. It is infuriating to watch someone speak authoritatively on a topic they have no actual knowledge of. Is Jay the fat one? He is the worst

Why is everyone so happy at the end of this?! Everyone is dead! Their dreams are crushed! All their idiotic plans failed! What is with the happy music?

This movie is a tonal mess.

Sorry I brought it up. I don't know why I would enjoy it. I just thought some good points were brought up why TLJ is a mess.

Why would I want to hate star wars? It's the last thing I want to do. I grew up on this stuff. Toys, bed sheets, underoos, lunch boxes. Played with my toys outside. Friends and I would pretend we were on Endor in the summer and Hoth in the winter, trudging through knee high snow, avoiding AT-ATs. Played the West End Games version of the RPG, I the Gamemaster, and putting John Williams music to tense roleplaying sessions. I'm the last person that would want to hate SW.

I just hate what it's become. And it started with the prequels and was harder to notice with the flood of "new SW" fever was high. The rousing, adventurous OT has now lead to so many off shoots and new relations and backstories that no one needed. I don't need backstories to Walrusman or Hammerhead (yes I deliberately did not use their names). We made the backstories in our heads. And adults can make up the stuff in between just as kids can.

Plus the new movies aren't cinematic at all, and the non-linear storytelling messes with the epic saga narrative (I've stated this before)

When I bring up counterpoints it's because I see the faults and weakness in this new shit. I don't think the standards are high enough. Sorry.

Have some people taken the hatred and toxicity to unusual and abnormal levels? Yes. Do I acknowledge that? Yes. Do I participate in that? No. I just like to point out my disappointment with the new stuff. If the majority of people just want raves on here that's fine. I'll go.

Eff it. I'm nearly done. I can't stand newer SW anymore.

Yeah great at misreading basic story or thematic points, disguising their lack of insight with tiresome snark, arrogantly positioning themselves above """the masses""" and caring next to nothing about the aesthetics of film. Any time I watch a video of theirs it only takes a couple of minutes before I want to punch a hole in the wall. (This is a general statement about their videos; I have not seen the TLJ review and I really do not want to)

They are to film reviews what infowars is to investigative journalism.
