I fucking hated this movie.

Kelly Marie Tran is fucking terrible. The whole Jedi "astral projection" thing is dumb. Leia's hand wave is lame as fuck.

It's all centered around what's essentially the slowest fucking chase scene in cinema history.

WHY WOULD YOU THINK THEY WOULDN'T NOTICE YOU WERE ALL TRYING TO LEAVE ON SPACE PODS. IT'S THE ONLY THING THEY ARE LOOKING AT!

BOMBS DON'T DROP IN SPACE.

I was excited when Rain Johnson was announced as the director. I loved the idea that he was gonna break with tradition and do new things.

Too bad all his ideas are fucking stupid.

Kylo is not an interesting character despite Adam Driver being fantastic.

See, I don't think Kelly Marie Tran acted bad or is a bad actor. I just think the role was weak and the role/story didn't work.

This is where I stand. The weakest part of the movie for me. It could have worked better with some tweaks.

Love people complaining about bombs dropping in space when there are explosions as well.

I like Kelly Marie Tran and her role. But the plot stuff (longest chase scene, astral projection, bombs dropping, escape pods going unnoticed, etc) is spot on.

Ships and other objects WOULD explode in space because they'd likely have their own oxygen supply.

Granted they probably wouldn't be as big as presented in most movies.

I thought the Astral projection was badass and consistent with Force powers.

The escape pods going unnoticed is consistent with tracking/viewing technology in the series.

I get these complaints, but you can have similar complaints with pretty much every entry in the series.

Nothing about the space battles in Star Wars has ever been realistic. You can't dog fight in space....ect. It's an odd quibble.

But we wanted something new. Just different something new!?
You see bombs dropping in space in Empire (ties dropping bombs looking for the falcon) plus these were magnet bombs that are locked onto a target directly and fired.
Astral projection has happened before we’ve just never seen it depicted like that(‘I know where luke is we have to go back’ - he uses Their connection to show her where he is physically)
There’s chase scenes all over the OT
They’d scrambled /jammed the signal so the Supremacy couldn’t pick up the shuttles(they weren’t escape pods)

If you have problems with that stuff but can ignore sounds in space and explosions and lightsabers all of which are impossible, I don’t know what to tell you.

Except in this case the WHOLE movie is basically one ship slowly "chasing" another.

For the most part, it's not really a crazy battle with a ton of X-Wings and TIEs where people could get distracted and others could escape.

As in the real world the resistance have smaller ships with a higher sublight top speed.
So like a pick up truck can go faster than a semi truck and stay ahead pulling slowly away out of range but not escaping completely.

Plus the point of that is just pure arrogance of the first order and Hux delivers a couple of lines to illustrate that.

It’s meant to be high drama and create tension. Mileage may vary on how much we enjoyed it. (It was too much a lift from that battleStar episode for me tbh)

The chase is the equivalent of a villain's long monologue before the killing blow. It's a trope for sure, but not a dealbreaker.

I thought it was cool for the series to introduce the concept of fuel in such a major way.

Yeah, don't get me started on Hux. Kylo takes shit from that piddly little f*ck for a movie and a half, but then all of a sudden finds the gumption to kill Snoke.

They’d kind of laid groundwork for that in Rebels. Every other episode was about the ghost crew doing raids to steal fuel from the imperials.

? Think you need to watch it again:) kylo knows walking in there he’s gonna kill snoke take over with Rey. He just doesn’t know how to go about it.
He never took shit off Hux if you watch both films closely. He holds him in complete contempt. As does Hux him. Snokes is an abusive manipulator playing them off each other to make them both compete to be his favourite. Sicko
