There is a new Rey theory that seems to have quite a bit of support. I've looked into it and I don't think it's any kind of real spoiler for the film. But I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. If you're trying to avoid all spoilers, I'd keep away from any info related to this film but also to Battlefront II and the comics and the novels.
Spill. There also seems to be footage from BF in one of the TLJ tv spots on a new planet. A walker shot
What we learn in the Battlefront II story mode seems to strongly suggest that Iden Versio is Rey's mom. There are a ton of YouTube theory vidoes out there that break it all down and get into the specifics. Nothing confirmed or anything, obviously. But we know Battlefront II is canon and the timing of release before TLJ makes sense. There are a lot of things that line up. It could go either way, though. And I won't be surprised if it's NOT actually the case. But things seem to make a good deal of sense.
theres also a screenshot of Luke talking to an imperial officer outside a huge vault door they can’t get into belonging to the emperor and they can’t get in and Luke is wondering what or why the emperor would be hiding so securely if he was so sure the Jedi were all dead. All intriguing stuff. Don’t know how it’ll tie into the film if any of it even does.
there's a voice-over (sounds like Luke to me) saying "Who are you?" in almost the exact same tone and cadence as Maz when she's asking Rey the same question back in that Force Awakens trailer.
definitely thinking luke and maz have crossed paths. Makes all the sense in the world they would have at some point. Will that stretch to him leaving that saber with her? Who knows.

Makes sense to me. But we'll see how they handle it.

Seems like this leads to how he finds the first temple.
I was going the other way. Whatever tech he was using to contact whatever’s in the outer reaches. Or it’s all the (millions) of Jedi artefacts and texts that were in the main temple on coruscant. Palps probably had all that destroyed or like this locked it up once he took over?

Here’s the bit
#QOTD:
"Why would the Emperor have a vault that can only be opened using the Force?" "Why do you think?" "You're telling me the man who destroyed the Jedi Order is secretly one of them?" "No. I'm telling you that as a boy on Coruscant you were frightened of the wrong thing." - Del Meeko & Luke Skywalk

If you watch it play out there seems to be more in line with what I mentioned. But again, I haven't played the game yet. Just watching stuff on YouTube. Either way, I like where your head is at. There's just more after that part that leads me to think it connects to Ahch-To.

Could easily be. One of the comics is apparently settin up the main Jedi librarian escaping with some sacred texts. The ones Luke’s got there? Some cool world building if so. Good bet palps has either hidden or destroyed all that stuff. He had all the captured sabers destroyed. I’m doubting he ever knew about Ahch to. The Jedi didn’t seem to.

Yeah, I think Luke finds something that Palpatine had that then leads him to Ahch To. I think you're right about no one really knowing much about it or its where it was.
The stuff with Jocasta Nu in the current Vader run is badass. I'm really digging that stuff.
