So only counting to counting to January 31st rogue one was the 8th biggest film of the year here in Ireland bringing in a whopping €3milliion. Which is peanuts but put to scale a huge amount for ten days in a country of 3.5 million people.
Remember when The Force Awakens used the "we have hope as long as there's light from the sun" thing?
No
Too bad, this is now a TFA thread. It was during the attack on starkiller base and I'm pretty sure Poe says something along those exact lines
Oh right. Now I remember. Sorry, champ, it's been a bit since I've seen the movie. Stip's post helped remind me. Yeah, he says that because it's true. Because Starkiller literally drains the sun for power. I'm with you now.
well i think its probably meant to be just a little metaphorical
Of course it is. I was just trying to wrap my head around what Mecca was talking about. I thought he was speaking only metaphorically, but I now realize he was talking about actual dialogue. I'm so tired. You understand what I'm saying.
And actually it's a great illustration of what LV hates about TFA. That kind of thing doesn't really bother me too much but I do like the more subtle hand Edwards employs.

Well Star Wars always had clunky metaphors.
In Jedi Luke is hiding under the stairs from Vader in the throne room. And Vader is trying to tempt him to the dark side. Shot of Luke's face one side is in the light the other in deep blue darkness. They did the same with Kylo on the bridge, light and red. Then the sun gets totally drained and it all goes red then he stabs han.

But it works.
I agree. It's part of the visual language of the films, especially post ANH.

Totally is! It's something it does really well I think but I can see how others would balk at the way it's done.
