A movie of Darth Vader hunting down Jedi would be pretty sweet. This could take place between Episode 3 and 4.

Hopefully there will be some training montage footage of Darth re-learning to use his mechanical limbs! Otherwise I just wont buy him being very tough :\

And...Where the hell the suit came from. I mean, does the Emperor just have these things lying around? That really bugged me in Episode 3. Who designed the suit, why did it look the way it did, how many of them are there?

You were one of the ones who didn't like the way Lost ended, aren't you?

It was OK. I was kinda like WTF, but overall I liked it.

Oh, good. I was kidding. It was a bad joke. But I'm actually glad you liked it. That makes me like you even more. :heartbeat:

I still say the best thing about Star Wars was its expansive, impossible to over-explore universe. The prequels already did enough harm to known characters, Fett included...that character especially benefits from being allowed to maintain a certain element of mystery. I don't think filling up Solo's past is a huge plus either....and I don't see Disney being prepared to end a Han Solo origin story with anything other than a nod to the idea that he's got a heart of gold, thus cutting down the evolution of his character in the first and second movie.

If they wanted to maintain this brand long term, they would have been way better off moving forward by creating their own batch of characters, introducing them in ways that allowed them to reference or incorporate the known in gentle ways. I would rather see Mark Hamil failing to rock a beard while playing a mirror to Obi-Wan in a small cameo that is part of some new character's story, than sit through two hours of "Han Solo origin story" or watch an angsty 22 year old Boba Fett learning the trade.

Yeah, this makes sense.

I never really play video games, but a lot of folks seemed to like the Knights of the Old Republic game. It may be interesting to see a back story of times hundreds of years before the events of Episode 4. A time with there were many Sith and Dark Jedi causing havoc for the peace keeping Jedi.

There are, of course, circumstances under which you could base new movies off of the old characters.

I’d watch a movie where all the slave girls Leia opted not to set free before running out and blowing the shit out of Jabba’s floaty barge somehow survive….their slave costumes of course highly tattered by events…and then seek their revenge through the power of gang rape. Please CGI or recast Leia on this one, thanks.

I’d also be willing to watch a movie in which Lando, fresh from having blown up the Death Star, fulfills his true destiny and final lifequest by, at long last, becoming a system.

Just skipping over and pretending a young Han Solo movie never happened will be easy enough...this just seems like another indicator that Disney has no idea what it just bought or how it's supposed to work...like your grandparents buying a computer.

The thing is, you could tell infinite stories about Han Solo without every touching his origin story or adding anything more to him than we already know. That being said, he'd make a good "Clone Wars" style cartoon, but probably not a movie.

Didn't Mr. Plinkett once argue that JJ Abrams should have directed the prequels, and that George Lucas should have directed people to their seats?

Carrie Fisher has officially signed up for Episode 7.
It's just been confirmed, Carrie Fisher WILL return as Princess Leia for JJ Abrams' Star Wars Episode 7. When asked by Palm Beach Illustrated, the actress and writer let the news slip.

When asked if she would be involved, she answered with a simple 'yes'. The publication asked Fisher (daughter of Debbie Reynolds) to share her thoughts on how a somewhat older Leia may be presented, to which she responded: "Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home... I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.

Miss Fisher who was recently hospitalised for Bipolar disorder went on to joke about how she'd be getting back into the famous outfit from previous outings: "The bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome," said Fisher. "At sundown, she thinks that she's 20-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalised."

Is this good news, Star Wars fans? Are you hoping to see her back in the buns and bikini?

I like the idea of Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Billy D. Williams reprising their roles. I just hope they are not the main focus, and I hope one or two of them get killed off in some way (like Luke getting killed on Tatooine). If done right, there is nothing wrong with them all being in the new films, but if they are the focus, it could be kinda lame. Who knows? Guess we'll just have to wait a few years.

I said before, if I were writing this thing, I'd have Leia die in the first reel. I'd have her be a Senator in the New Republic. Her assassination by a sort of rebel terrorist who wants to inflict confusion/chaos on the galaxy (or an old Empire sympathizer hungry for power) would kick start the main conflict.

Could be cool to see the events of A New Hope mirrored -- this time the well established New Republic is under attack by "rebel" forces who want to destroy everything the Republic has built. Have Luke be a sort of Obi Wan role. His sister's death brings him out of hiding/retirement. He trains Han and Leia's kids to be Jedi. Blah, blah, blah...

Something like that. But I think Leia's death could be a wonderful catalyst.

I just want this movie to have actual sets instead of everything being CGI.

its embarrassing that a science fiction movie made in the 70's looks far more realistic than one that was made in the early aughts.

I feel that way about most movies honestly. The love affair with CGI usually ends up looking really fake and takes away the drama for me. It was my number 1 complaint with the Avengers and a lot of blockbusters honestly.

We'll see.

I'm not super excited. Yet.

But I am cautiously optimistic.
