I'm all for bringing Luke back, but just first erase the trilogy sequel from cannon and start over. Admit the mistake and do better. Well, aside from Last Jedi which is still awesome.
I think that ship has sailed. It would look foolish for Disney/LFL to do a course correction and "erase" the ST. It's done. It sucks. Anything coming now will be mediocre at best.
They take other stuff in and out of cannon, right? But I understand the movies would be next level.

On one hand if the force is just some telephone to it and everyone in it, Rey could be trained by every Jedi ghost ever simply as they’re in the force.
Or at least all the ones like qui gon or obi wan or Anakin etc etc that she heard in the force in the rise of Skywalker.
Then your main character, Rey or whoever, is just an invincible superhero.
They wanna move away from that it seems. And I hope.

Oh
Damon Lindelof calls his #StarWars script a "true labor of love."
"The movie is still happening, but unfortunately not with me. I wish them all the best of luck. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is an incredible director, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with."

This concept will fall as flat as Solo did. It will all be retread again. Kennedy et al continue to fail to understand who their real assets are for moving the franchise forward on the big screen. The TV shows are running circles around the movies with characters that have interesting backstories, less emphasis on the Force, and more world-building. In my opinion, Din Djarin is the new Luke Skywalker, and if they miss that then they are just doomed. A Tales of Luke Skywalker trilogy would be very well-received and potentially a way to make proper amends to his character. An Indiana Jones of sorts crisscrossing the galaxy trying to find his new purpose. And if not nostalgia, then explore Mara Jade, explore Cal Kestis, explore the Mortis storyline.
