So is it safe to assume this will be taking place in the current Mando timeline based on that post-credits scene? Because I'd rather it be the story of how he ended up out of the Sarlacc pit and without the armor.

Apparently this is going to be Mandalorian season 2.5 and a lot of tie in from it. I’m presuming bounty hunter guild etc Cos that’s what the comics are doing apparently.
