So it’s seems one of the story group has walked back the ‘big’ thing we’re all talking about. It’s not meant to be taken literally and if you look closely

The whole thing is an hallucination anyway. It's more of a vision quest than a literal event. You'll see when you get to it. I totally understand that it's not meant to be literal, just like in the actual films it's an implication more than an explicit statement of fact. But I think it's safe to say, given all the evidence across multiple media now, that it's a thing.

There are some things in the prequels that are often taken literally (and in a negative light), where what Lucas intended was in fact something you understand when paying full attention.
