i think my favorite character is Vader. Not Anakin but Vader from the original movies. So fucking menacing and scary and then also vulnerable in the last one.

My pal just watched season three the other day and it was his favourite of the three seasons.
That it went more into the mandalorian culture and politics.
Don’t think I’ve heard anyone else say that.

I must watch it again

It's far and away my favorite season, too!

Really?
You never said

It’s Fucking criminal no Emmy nods for the acting in andor

Stellan skarsgard was fuckin outstanding all the way through.

That monologue about the rebellion is Oscar worthy.

I burn my days for a sunrise I know I will never see

Yep, I agree. To this day, he scares the shit out of me.

When I was six or seven, I went as Darth Vader for Halloween. Good times!

Vader has never been scary to me. But there's no denying he's ICONIC. An all-timer, for sure.

What was your first Star Wars movie and when, Joey?

Before acting in a Star Wars movie, Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill had never seen a Star Wars movie.

My first one was the first one, Star Wars (A New Hope). Not sure when I first saw it. Probably around 1985/86?

Well, then ... your lack of fear of Vader is more perplexing than your unwavering defense of TRoS.

Ah. So you never really saw them in a theater back in the day. Maybe that’s what I was thinking of.

Ah. So you never really saw them in a theater back in the day. Maybe that’s what I was thinking of.

I wasn't super into SW until later. I saw them as a kid, had a ton of the toys, had the movies on VHS (still do, actually). But by the time I was nine/ten, I was way more into Star Trek.

In high school all the theater nerds were SUPER into SW. So I kinda started to get back into it a little. We had a SW group D&D-style RPG going, I saw the SE released in theaters, saw the first two Prequels in theaters on their respective opening nights. Also, I was sort of into the Old Republic comics a bit at the time ( Exar Kun for life!). But it was more of a social thing then at the time. I was into it because my friends were and it was something we could share. And they weren't into much of the stuff I was into.

By the time RotS came out I was graduating college and had lost all interest. I saw Sith in theatres but late in it's run and really didn't like it. I still think it's the least of the prequels.

So, when Force Awakens came out I was meh about it. The thing I cared about most, honestly, was that it was JJ. So I went (by myself to a random afternoon showing) and it sang deep in my soul. The movie resonated in a profound way and reignited my interest in SW. I finally fell head over feet in love with a galaxy far, far away...

He was always so hokey. His helmet bounced. He pointed his finger a lot, even when he wasn't talking. A basic whiney teenager made him look like a chump. Leia wasn't afraid of him.

He's gotten way more interesting and scary in later years, for me.

The Emperor freaked me the fuck out though!

I'm a big fan, yeah!

But I don't have Paramount+ so I haven't seen Picard S2 & 3 or Discovery or SNW.

A lot. But usually it was because I liked things like Star Wars not because I called Vader hokey.

The kids kicking my ass also thought Vader was hokey.
