Any of you consider the sequel trilogy better than the original?
No. While a couple of the movies might crack the top 3, as a whole, nothing will beat the original trilogy of star wars. There's still nothing better than the climax of Vader/Luke/Palpatine in Return of the Jedi. Though, a majority of that movie is rather dull.

Given what came out of the prequel trilogy (clone wars, rebels, characters, books) I'm not sure I value the sequel trilogy higher than the prequels
Visually they are sooo much better. The prequels aged horribly.
Yeah but the stories and the auxillary things we got from the prequels are so much better. I doubt we get animated series or many books about things that happen during the sequels or after the sequels like we did with the prequels. I mean, we are getting an Obi wan series specifically because so many people loved McGregor's portrayal of him in the prequels.

well, yeah the story is richer for sure. But i dont know if ill be returning to the prequels much. I mean i havent in all this time...never saw Phantom Menace again since the release!
I hope Disney got the balls to tell us what happened after the sequels. Im sure well get explanations from TLJ to ROS too.

They have other stories/trilogies in the works, none of which include what happens right after the sequels. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Very true and excellent point.
The counter to that might be that another reason we got so much of that stuff was because Lucas failed in achieving what he wanted in the PT. Had he done his job properly maybe a lot of that stuff never happens because it's not necessary.

Might be reading that wrong but it’s not entirely true. Clone wars was Lucas’ baby. He guided the whole thing and paid for the whole thing out of his own pocket to elaborate and expand the prequel era stories.
