There is no doubt we see a darker and also a more mature Luke in ROTJ. One who does what is needed to save his friends, and also flirts with the dark side of the force. Yet, one who doesn’t give any indication that he would work for the Emperor, or sacrifice his friends. In some ways he’s more John McClane than Anakin Skywalker. Tough and uncompromising in the struggle for what is right. In the end he overcomes all his demons, and is a true Jedi master.

Even so, if at the end of ROTJ, his friends were in the same position as in the start of the movie, Luke would go there and sort it out, with force if need be.

I think how Mark Hamill played it is a big part of that. He has admitted to reacting to the script of ROTJ. He knew he was going to flirt with the dark side, but was surprised to read that he was going to dress in black etc. “I read [the script for] Jedi and thought, ‘Wait a sec! I thought I was heading toward the struggle of heading to the Dark Side. I’m in black. I have a glove. I see a trend here.” Yet, still he always remains calm, benign in most settings. All feeding into the Luke we know from ANH and ESB. The end of ROTJ gives us the final answer to that, he has overcome.

Perhaps Luke is using the force with that kick?

Yeah that could be explained away if they wanted.

That shot is preceeded by Boba getting launched in the air, too, so you'd probably never see it. The eye is tracking Boba.

The TLJ one happens so fast, its doubtful you'd notice. Its kinda weird that they seem to react as if she gets stabbed though.

Yes, that is really strange. Difficult to explain.

A lot of the TLJ throne room scene looks choreographed anyway.

You guys are seeing something totally different than I'm seeing. What exactly is wrong with the TLJ gif? I certainly don't read a stabbing in that at all.

Yea i couldnt figure it out either. She kind of jumps up/back because he grabs her arm like he's going to pick her up and slam her down. I dont see any stabbing motion or an intention in making it look as such.

It's clear as day that she's reacting to her arm being grabbed/pinned back. Perhaps she's over-selling it a bit, but that's stage combat 101.

After paying more attention to all the problems with this movie, I change my vote to second from worst. Just terrible.

Not everything on YouTube is created equal. I agreed with almost everything this guy said in these videos.

Why would I watch these videos that are as long as the movie itself?

I really don’t care what you think about the last Jedi either way. I really really really don’t care about a shithead incel on YouTube who made a series of videos about it. Make your own arguments. As if any one of us were ever gonna press play on any of them

Good question. I guess if you were bored at work like me.

Something he brings up I didn't consider before but should have: Why were they using those new bombers? They are slow as hell sitting ducks and Y-Wings work much better.

Also all the blaring story-line/tone inconsistencies/flaws are atrocious when you pay attention to them. Luke's mood doesn't make sense. If he lost his damn mind and doesn't care what happens to his friends anymore they should have explained why. Why did he leave the map if he didn't want to be found? The reasons they give aren't good enough/don't make sense.

I can't get over the way they killed off Ackbar behind the scenes and with nobody seeming to give a shit. And that purple-haired lady and her not explaining the plan... so stupid. The light speed ship attack is inexcusable. It ruins all space battle scenes from every movie. There's so much more... stupid movie.
