The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

I must be getting old. The thought of paying $600 for 2 tickets to an Arena show - possibly standing or sitting I don't get to choose - is a tough one all of a sudden. Having travelled the country to see Pearl Jam more than a few times I am trying to decide if I want to travel 156Km to see them in my own state. Having been a fan club member for over 25 years I would hope that you'd have access to a good presale not a register your interest, we might charge you for every show or you might dip out completely. I mean anything is better than the Taylor Swift ticketing debacle and subsequent price gouging by airlines and hotels in Australia but, still a little disappointing to get a three stop East Coast Arena tour after 10 years of nothing. These "PJ Premium" seats is certainly something the Pearl Jam of old would have railed against. I guess the band are getting old too.
Anyhow I am sure once my old man crankiness wears off, I'll go to some shows...

Yes I am still about, a tour will always bring me out and it's been so long.

Nah, moved down south to Perth a few years back now. Had the eldest in boarding school and couldn't handle being 2,500kms apart, so picked up and moved. Enjoying not having to deal with wet season heat these days (mind you, Perth has been its own little thermonuclear oven this summer, but its only for days at a time and the lack of humidity makes it almost pleasant in comparison).
Hope you get to the show, it'll be a blast for sure.

What makes it even more troubling is the last show here was average with nearly half the show covers or LB tracks that I wasn’t keen on.
I remember enjoying the Gold Coast show but not the venue. It's a pain to get in and out of the Gold Coast from the Sunshine Coast. Used to love the Brisbane Entertainment Centre shows. Good venue, train station there or drive and park. I know what you mean about LB songs - pretty sure Yellow Moon got a play last time. Not a fan. Mind you Sirens was definitely played and I bloody hate that song. Still a good show and there were some pretty good acts around the Big Day out.

Yeah well cause I'm an idiot I put in for Gold Coast and Sydney. If I hear from Clint I may go to Melbourne if he's looking for a concert buddy. Taking my youngest to the Gold Coast show. I owe her a concert as I took my eldest to Eddie Vedder show.
Perth supposed to be 42° tomorrow. Been a brutal humid summer in Brisbane this year as well. I always get annoyed when bands just do East Coast shows - and I live here - or do pissy quick stop tours. Taylor Swift not doing Brisbane meant the only tickets I could get were to the MCG for my girls. With airfares and hotel room it's a $5500 concert for three people

Yeah, plan to take my 2 kids along to the Melbourne PJ show so that's about the same damage for us there as well. These fuckers better bloody bring it, I say!
I'll have to hit Clint up to see if he's doing Melbourne too - would be great to have a wee little catch up on the arvo of. Just have to make sure we all pace ourselves....

Good idea. Haven't seen Clint since he came up to Brissie for EV show in 2013 I think. Learnt he is a far better golfer than I'll ever be.

Well, you guys are making me feel a little better.
I've only ever seen PJ in Brisbane, getting most shows from 98-2009. EV on both tours at QPAC. some great fan club seats for one of them.
The BDO for the LB tour just did not interest me. I felt too old for that - even back then.
I'm pumped for the new album and tour, but Wednesday night, down the coast and for $300 a pop? Work / family and finances just do not stretch that far.
I'm sure they'll be great and I know the board will be represented at the show, so I can get that ambivalent take on it.
I think I'll just pre-order the red vinyl, follow the setlists online and hunt for HQ proshot footage.

I also didn't have the best experience at GC BDO 2014. it was a long day..
they played the worst songs from lightning bolt (LTRP wasnt any better live) and mother /sirens combo was
otherwise it was a pretty cool set. the shows they played last year in the US seemed to be better than these shows so i am interested.. except i will be hoping for binaural or riot act and get 0 or 1. i live in NQLD so its a bit more expensive for me to fly, id probably go to melbourne if anything.

Don't get your hopes up for a Release opener in Sydney this year either. I hear its a lock to be played In Melbourne on the 16th though...
I skipped the 2014 BDO show in Perth - I remember I had only just sent my son off to boarding school the year prior and was visiting him in Perth that weekend. It was a pretty easy decision for me to stay with him on the (Sunday) show day rather than stick out like some old perv toolie at the BDO show to watch PJ play. No regerts.
