Wife and I watched the Chili Peppers set after Pearl Jam. She said the PJ set was 2 1/2 hours that felt like an hour, and the RHCP set was an hour and a half that felt like four.
Pretty astute
All I want to see, at this point, is that the band is enjoying itself. Yes, more often than not, Ed's heart and the crowds get them through the gigs these days, and, sure, Ed can occasionally sound more like a drunk fan singing at a PJ show, but, so what? They've earned it. They owe nothing, and they still conjure up some magic.
I'd love to see the next step for PJ Enterprises be a live, at home, PPV setup. They've been doing the boots for twenty years now, take it to the logical conclusion: $25 per gig live video streams. Ed can sacrifice a few fire-fighter poles in the place to make this happen.

Ed nailed it vocally too.
Yes, really good. The band was really into the performance.
These SA tours end up being such a tease because they only last a week or so. Excited to follow along with the Euro tour for a month when it actually gets rolling.
