U2 were almost through performing "The Joshua Tree," their 1987 classic, when Bono called for a little help from the CenturyLink Field stage on Sunday night.
"Where's Eddie Vedder?" he called into the chilly stadium air. "Spirit of Seattle!"
The spirit appeared: Vedder, the Pearl Jam frontman and Seattle grunge god, joined U2 to sing on "Mothers of the Disappeared," the finale of the band's "Joshua Tree" full-album performance.
