Less truth to this than the other rumors. More like, "since PJ did this in the past, they'll do it again." They only did the Tester fundraiser once.

I believe however the 2005 show was also a Tester benefit, so I guess they’ve done it twice.
Edit - I checked and yes, the 2005 show was a benefit for his 2006 senate run. Confirmed by the giant picture of his face on the poster.

I stand corrected. I just listened to the 2012 show and Ed mentioned Tester wasn't allowed on stage due to regulations, but in 2005 he was on stage and introduced the band. Is Tester's fuck up the real reason this show was never officially released?

I doubt it. Missoula was a late addition to the 2005 tour. Even the Gorge show, which was announced before Missoula but after the Canadian tour, was billed as a warmup for the Canadian tour. I think Missoula was seen by the band as a warmup, similar to London, ON 2013.
