The stuff that mixes more delicate vocals with a slow tempo... Oceans is a good example.

Oceans yeah definitely.
Even Flow is such a cool song but they've stripped everything good about it out of their live performances. GTF and Even Flow are the two that make me sad because I think both are amazing songs that are butchered live. Even Flow frustrates more because it COULD be good if they just once tried putting the groove back in. Eddie cannot do GTF anymore though that one is permanently dead

Not For You. The last great version I heard was from the 2000 tour (Columbia, MD; Mansfield). The 2003 had a few decent ones, after that: way too little distortion! The same could be said for songs like Parting Ways, Sleight of Hand... The guitar Ed uses most of the time especially sounds like shit. (Those intros to NFY nowadays - ugh...) When J Mascis plugged in his guitar at this years Berlin Show, the first thing I was thinking: Wow, that's how nasty a guitar can sound like...

my 1st post!
for me its Oceans, oh my, Ed just can't hit the high notes anymore. Close second is Even Flow. Its to bad this one hasn't been played the way it used to be played. For me the definitive live version is Melbourne 95. Remember the old FM broadcast? That even flow is so funky. Love it when Stone drops out for Mike's solo, just so pleasing to the ear . . .
Many of the other songs mentioned are just played to fast. I do not like the call and response on Corduroy, but its been played to fast since maybe 2000/2003.
