Man. Ed sounds terrible in that Salt Lake City show. Kind of forgot how destroyed his voice was back then. he sure wasn't holding back though.

FWIW I think the band was going through a really rough patch around this time and I don't think they were rehearsing very much. It could be that he just hadn't warmed up at all.

I've always felt that perhaps the food poisoning incident really messed up his voice for some reason. I don't know why, but he never really sounded right for the rest of 1995.

Of all these Remasters, I have only listened to "1994-04-03 Atlanta, GA - Aussie Promo w/ KROQ FM patches" and "1998-03-05 Melbourne, AU - Promo CD".

Where to next?

Berlin 1996 benefited greatly from the remaster :nice:

Obviously a great show too. Man I wish we had more No Code-era soundboards :(

Maybe a new source of a widely circulating show if anyone is interested.

Constitution Hall 1995 with Soldier Field patches.

After watching an interview with Bruce Botnik, the doors engineer, on the Hollywood Bowl Bluray and how he used multi tracks from other Doors shows to repair the damaged vocal multitrack from Hollywood Bowl, I got inspired. Of course, he could isolate the vocals and use JUST the parts of the vocal track he needed, I figured I could do something the same with the Constitution Hall dropouts.

With the release of the Soldier Field show it allowed me to make a new, better version of my pet project. I’ve posted this before and some, if not most people, are not fond of it.

The feedback I received is that most people prefer the historical accuracy and the audience patches. I get it. However, I prefer a homogenous sound if it does not eat up much of the show. Given it is only around 26 seconds of a 90 minute show does not bother me.

Some criteria had to be met. It had to be a Jack show. Preferably 1995. That way it is the same era. Same unique Jack rhythms. Also, Ed’s tone in 95 is different from 98. The stereo field had to be similar. I’ve used Melbourne 98 for Release and MWFM for StBC . Now with the Soldier Field release I have the best match available. If there is interest I’ll share the whole show and if someone likes it and make it even better, go for it. It’s not perfect, but it is about as close as we can get.

Check out the my latest (version III) samples. If you like it, cool. If you like the audience patch, that’s cool too. All feedback is welcome.

Edit: Patches are Release 0:24-0:37 and 1:54-2:01 and StBC 1:59-2:05. Approximate, Crossfaded with Adobe Audition.

Sounds good to me. I prefer that approach to audience patches.

Cool. Thanks guys. I'll upload a dropbox link in the next few days. For a revised CD1 anyway.

Are there MP# versions of these shows, or only FLAC?

I've only ever circulated flac of this collection, but I'm sure someone has converted some or all of them to mp3.

Fond fond memories of listening to this project one year when I had a job as a med supply courier (shout out to Ruddo for getting me this )

For an entire year I drove all across Houston for a living, from clinic to clinic, dropping off supplies and picking up lab results. Lottttt of miles between clinics in a city this large and sprawling, and a hell of a lot of driving between stops. Every day, as I began the route, I made a routine of listening in chronological order, including each album in its right place. The most ambitious listening endeavor I’ve ever taken on. Anyone else ever get through this collection this way?

I listened to every '05 bootleg while training for a marathon in late '05/early '06. Not sure I'd want to do it again, given my limited opportunities to listen to music, but I really enjoyed it at the time. It helps when the tour is great.
