I love that London show. I remember taping it off the radio. It was dumb luck back in those days to catch stuff like that. Still my all time favorite RITFW.

Yeah...I don't know what happened but his voice started to go on the pacific rim tour, and the whole US tour has problems. It got better as time went on, but '96 and pacific rim '98 still have problems at certain shows/times; he was also transitioning his singing style. By US '98 he had hit a new peak vocally, which lasted all the way up through the first US leg of 2003 but was still pretty good and great at times through 2007. 2008 and on began the decline to what we have today, with very significant changes noted between 2007 and 2008, 2008 and 2009, 2010 and 2011, and 2012 and 2013; I don't really feel his voice has significantly changed since then.

The SRS shows have been remastered to resemble the 2000 and 2006 bootlegs.
I wish more people paid attention to this. Not detracting from the hard work anyone put in, but that was the point of this remaster series. If you preferred the sound of lots of the 90s sbd bootlegs, these will actually sound WORSE to you. Too often people assume remaster = better without bothering to compare it themselves to the original. It's a damn shame if a bunch of people delete the originals for the (often inferior sounding) remasters.
It was an attempt to bring all of the early soundboards in line with the official boots and each other. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not my preferred mastering style, but in this case it's ultimately Pearl Jam who are to blame for that.
I get it - and I'm appreciative for that and hate that I come off as an ungrateful jerk, I'm not. It's comments earlier in the thread like "Now these can be the definitive sources for all these shows for years to come" that makes me nervous this ends up polluting the best-sounding sources out there instead of helping.
Although I've never heard them, I have a hard time believing the original sources sound better than the Remasters.
