I saw them in 2013 and thought they were good, but hearing most recordings from 2011-2014 or whatever, they just don't sound good.
I saw them at the global citizens festival and thought they sounded good, but that was a short show. How have they been performing lately? Is Eddie continuing to stop doing the breaks in his voice and weird vocal ticks that he never did until like 2009 or whatever? things like "Jeremy spoke in...claass..todaa...haaaay"

I mean, his vocal chords aren't getting any younger. Unless they write some mellower material, or start doing acoustic sets regularly, I would expect more of this. Still better than an Imagine Dragons concert, I'm sure.

I think if you're going to judge this tour by how they sound on bootleg, you'll be disappointed. Aside from missing whole sections of lyrics, most of the things that bother me when I listen to boots doesn't register at a show. I don't overanalyze. I don't analyze at all. I'm at a Pearl Jam show! I'm going to the NYC and Wrigley shows, and I anticipate having a memorable time.

Ya they will sound good live. But agreed that listening to the bootlegs of these shows are awful. Actually thought 2014 was better than 2013 shows they did in North America. Ed can't hit the notes anymore but they still play with a lot of energy. Since they haven't played Florida in a while I expect set lists like the 2014 Midwest tour. Pendulum opener and a few other LB tracks. Curious if they'll be 3 hour sets again.

I kinda hope they ditch the "double opener" model this time around. When I saw them in 2013, the first show was Release-->Long Road and the second show was Pendulum-->Long Road-->Sometimes. There's something about those that kills some energy.

I really like that.

I'd say it may kill some energy if it's in the middle of a set, but at the beginning (of a 3+ hour show), I think it sets a pace... Hartford '13, for example, may be the greatest opening sequence I ever heard the band play (Pendulum>Long Road>Sometimes), and then they went directly into a scorching set.
My least favorite openers were Alive (Dallas '03) and Sirens (N.O. '13). At this point, it's not so much WHAT they play, but how it's played... Set lists don't mean shit on paper with this band anymore.

Pendulum is the only new song I'm looking forward to. Love the boots on this, because it can be pulled off live. Just didn't hear it at the show in '13.

The rest will be a mish mash of crowd singing and such. Gone are the days for debuting new songs during these tours. They should record the new record while on tour, though.
I'm only doing one show this tour which will be philly in Friday night. Only other philly area show I have been too was Camden in 06 when they brought the convicts out. I hope it's a good show
