I knew for certain we'd get setting forth, thin air, and some sort of WMA.
Thin Air was so beautiful.
I'm pretty sure I heard you cheering in that video.
I wasn't that close when pearl jam hit the stage
One of these times if I'm up close at a show and I see someone serious about recording a song, I need to go near them and yell "strat this is ruddo" and hope it gets posted to YouTube.
That would be awesome.

Do we have an official confirmation/date of release for this boot?
I was told by a local T'ride tourism official that the entire festival was broadcast on KOTO radio... EXCEPT Pearl Jam. They wouldn't allow it, and I'm assuming it was simply due to future bootleg sales, but I don't know. Sounds pretty greedy and lame to me. Also, PJ charged a flat rate of $1.5million + an all-inclusive week stay at a resort for the whole band.

Heard an interview on SiriusXM PJ radio with the guy who runs the Ride Festival. Said he's been trying to get Pearl Jam to play every year since they started 5 or 6 years ago, but that really it was beeter they didn't get them until now. Finally knew how to do it right, they had a brand new stage, etc.... It was during a call-in show of some sorts. Lots of talk about how different and unique this show was, quiet a few said it was in the top 3 or 5 all time Pearl Jam shows. I don't disagree.
The most interesting thing, however, was that they have announced the official bootleg will be available 8/4. Then they played the final bootleg cut of Society. McCready steals it. It's great.

So apparently Sirius is debuting the show on 8/4, but will not be released to buy until the following Friday 8/12.
And yes, it will not come close to capturing the experience. I told my buddy that was there with me that even the pictures won't capture what it was like to be in that the setting. Of all my 25 PJ shows, only maybe Gorge 06 can compare.
We are considering going again next year, no matter who's playing.

Come to Neil october 1!
Really still get giddy thinking about the weekend and the show. there have been numerous people who have stopped me at variuos functions to tell me about their experience with pearl jam there. Last week a gal I kind of knew said she went to really only hang out and see the temperance movement and wasn't sure she'd even go see pearl jam. Just not her thing. She went and told me "i think that may have been the best concert I have ever seen"
Now expectations are high. I can't think of recent show I would call in my top five (maybe Moline).

Honestly I had no idea if the songs were played well or not. My initial reaction was all about McCready standing out, but it was so mesmerizing just being there and in that environment, it's hard to distinguish the music really. From listening to the audience recording, it seems like Ed definitely struggled, but all in all the band was pretty much on. The official release will be interesting, such an unusually constructed set.
But no recording or photo or video will come anywhere close to capturing it, that's for sure
And I would love to come see Neil. If only if could. I think I used up all the travel points I had with my wife for at least a couple years.
That's how I feel about MSG2 '98. It was something very special that just can't be captured or replicated by the various boots out there.
