The difference with PJ doing it and all these other bands that do it is the other guys advertise they're doing it to boost ticket sales. When PJ does it, it's a surprise. |

That first encore is a snoozefest (not an All or None fan, and I've gotten Bee Girl at each of my last two shows, so it's no big deal for me) |

From Fellow Fan TE Spoth: "Once I went to a Pearl Jam show. I was expecting an even flow of songs from many different albums. So I was surprised when the first three were the first three songs from their first album but I thought there was no way they'd do the whole thing; many in the audience weren't even alive the last time it happened. And why go for it on a random night in Philly? It might be better to save it for some black tie affair. But as Jeremy Bentham said, whatever provides the greatest happiness must be the best thing. And there were oceans of happiness. Like sitting on the porch drinking cool lemonade. Or strolling in a lovely garden. By the tenth song we were in too deep to turn back. And the eleventh marked the release of all remaining tension -- it was done." |

I really enjoyed that one. Frankly, I was pretty underwhelmed by the encore (I too have heard Bee Girl and All or None a bunch of times, and they just don't do it for me). But overall, it was great. Ed does a killer Willie Nelson impression. |
