I feel like always doing RVM and Porch to end the sets is kind of boring...I understand WHY they do it, but could they not turn something else into an extended jam and try something fresh? It is kind of...predictable? I did like them closing the first set with Better Man at Brooklyn 2 '13, but I don't think that one is very rare either - it just is so good I like it there.
But I dunno, maybe they should freshen things up, try some new arrangements, put something else in those spots?
I feel the same thing about the show closers. By Encore 2 it kind of is a bit boring when they go into their stretch of closers...Rockin in the Free World, Alive, Indifference, Sonic Reducer, Yellow Ledbetter, Baba O Riley.....I would like them to put some new ones in there.
Im surprised they end with Indifference so much, I dunno....could they maybe try something new? Or would it just be anticlimactic after so long of people being used to what they use now?

I think this is only the kind of thing that concerns people who have the opportunity to see the band play pretty frequently. They play those songs in those positions because that's where they work best. There are still plenty of fans coming to their first or second show who want to see all of the traditional elements of a Pearl Jam performance; I think it's time for an audience member to take a break from seeing the band if those things seem rote or boring.

Itd be nice for them to put Alive there as a closer to the first set instead of always having it near the end, but I guess it needs to fill its role so you know when the show is coming to an end and don't get disappointed? <_<
Let's think of songs that could be used instead of the constant RVM/Porch/sometimes Better Man? I do think Black works. I wonder if there are any songs they could redo and repurpose to have a longer ending that could be cool for freshness

San Sebastian 2000 has RVM mid set, with no extended jam. It's actually a really nice version of the song, and clocks in around the 5:40 mark for playing time. Give it a listen if you haven't heard it in awhile / ever.
Personally, I think Indifference is one of the worst possible songs they could close with. It's such a downer to end an otherwise fun night.
