The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I'd go see them if they played "Binaural" or "Riot Act" all the way through, but then they would have to learn how to play some of those songs again, which will never happen in a million years, because they are too fucking lazy.
All of there euro tours since 2007 have been cash grabs. It's like somone in the band said " Hey guys, I know 9 people are dead, but we need to make cash" Look at this tour for example. They stayed out of France because apparently no one gives two shits about them there. They played two shows in the richer part of Italy (northern italy) and avoided Greece, Spain and Portugal where there economic problems have been well documented.
All there tours since 2006 have been designed to maximize profits. I guess there just finally realizing how much cash they lost in the 90's but letting Eddie be all anti-everything. There gonna stick to this formual as they get older. They will never do full albums and pull out some B-sides half ass as WCT stated because they real lazy these days.

I know. But that's not "nailing" a song where urgency is a key factor. It's a slog. Sounds neutered.
I dont feel that at all. Other than it being downtuned, id say musically, lyrically, vocally it was nailed. The down tuning takes some of the agency out of it but i think that is a pretty legit version.

Of course they are. And I don't necessarily have a problem with how they structure their tours or why. I wish they'd play my hometown, but other than that, I totally understand playing where there's a return.
My problem with the current state of live PJ is that there seems to be very little, if any, interest in expressing their art in a professional manner. They just make their way to the venue, plug in, and whatever comes out, so be it, who cares. I miss the days where they wrote on the road, they went new places within the songs, they improv'd on a regular basis, and they genuinely cared about creating something through their live performance. Instead, they just bust through the songs the same way every time, and pull a couple of half-assed, usually poorly performed rarities to spice it up. There are exceptions to all of this, of course, but the exceptions are few and far between.

Theyve stopped being artists and have become entertainers. Its unfortunate. I enjoy one more than the other but I suppose there isn't something inherently wrong with being entertainers. I just think they were better at that while focusing on being artists.

Sucks if that's why they stopped going to Portugal. They are a great music-oriented society, and have been the happiest, most grateful PJ crowds I have ever seen/heard...

This has nothing to do with them. It's just how it works in Europe for most big names and has probably more to do with promoters than bands. They still manage to usually play some shows outside of the standard tour stops like the Trieste show this year.

Let's be honest, how many people had ever heard the words "Trieste" or "Moline" up until about 6 months ago.
