The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

It is a classic....however....I have been listening to 4-2-94 and it is also a pretty spectacular show. If you take away the famousness of the radio broadcast show arguably the day before could be as good, if not better depending on your own point of view and preferences. Has anyone ever compared these side by side to determine a winner?

I don't have much of a taste for AUD tapes anymore, but if memory serves, all the shows from Spring '94 are pretty consistently excellent. If we had every one of them in comparable quality (and had had them for a similiar length of time), I don't think 4/3 would necessarily stand head and shoulders above the others -- it was generally a really, really strong month for the band.

Yeah, over the years, at least in terms of audience recording that went around a lot on cassette, both Atlanta shows (4/2 & 4/3), Fairfax (4/8), Boston (4/11 & 4/12), the Orpheum Theater show (4/16?), and the short tour closer (Paramount Theater in NYC on 4/17) were all really good, and some really essential shows of the time. If memory serves correctly, Eddie really started to strain mentally and emotionally as the tour progressed dealing with the loss of Kurt Cobain - which sounded less personal and more about sharing the load of the limelight. He’d also share at the last show his anticipation that they were going to take a break for a while, which I think they did to record Vitalogy, no?
Atlanta seems like the last show before it all sort of started careening out of control. Both nights were excellent though I prefer 4/3.

i saw 6 shows from that spring vs. tour (chicago stadium, chicago new regal theatre, west lafayette, detroit masonic temple, ann arbor, and the new york paramount show), and my favorite among them all was the detroit masonic temple show. to my knowledge, a recording of this show has never surfaced.
