Jeremy in 2000 is cool. Not sure it's my favorite tour for the song, but I definitely like it a lot.

Yeah, my favorite tour for Jeremy because they end it early, sparing us the long drawn-out outro. They should have kept it that way.

Yeah, that’s also the same for Porch and Crazy Mary. They were very concise on this tour, with exceptions for Rearviewmirror and Parting Ways, which were both extended in the best of ways.

I'd add RVM to the list too

let's be honest...very few duds from that tour.

i feel the opposite, everything from Ten to Vitalogy feels forced during this tour, kinda lifeless.

I like some of the things Matt does with Dissident.

Check out Not For You from Boston or Columbia, MD (also Corduroy from that show), so good!

Those Sonic Youth influenced RVM's from 2000 are just great.

Yeah, it really hasn't been the same since.

(I cannot believe I'm posting in this subfourm again)

The Boise show is so fucking good, you can really hear the SY touch.

Though the Ralph Nader plug is a little jarring.

Yeah, I never thought the material from the first two records was that good in 2000. But it really didn't matter at all.

Chicago 2000 is possibly the best they've ever played.

That show is really incredible. I don’t know about best, but it’s gotta be up there.

Has anyone taken the 2000 recordings and done some magic to make them sound a little more 3d and wide sound stage? Love the mix but its very flat.

I think 2000 had a couple of things going for it:

1) No Boom. Not that I dislike Boom, but organ takes up space in a mix and forces the guitars to turn down. The reason the Binaural songs never sound better than 2000 is because Binaural is actually a killer guitar record that needs to be played with the amps CRANKED. There was space on stage to do that in 2000.

2) Technological limitations. You couldn't really play a real acoustic guitar on stage and have it not sound like garbage until Taylor guitars made some live audio innovations around 2004. I think Stone even mentioned that in an interview around that time. So he would play stuff electric (Crazy Mary notably). Just better in my opinion.

Some best versions IMO:

Sleight of Hand and Of the Girl -- Cincinnati
Alive, Crazy Mary -- Seattle 2 (these are both all time, not just 2000)
Black, Crown of Thorns, RVM, Animal -- Seattle 1 (Seattle 1 actually has a lot of good playing)
Rockin In the Free World -- Boise
Long Road -- obviously Phoenix
